SyncThermology Annual Conference 2014

Monday, November 24, 2014  ‹ Back To Latest News List

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks for our team between our annual conference, exciting business meetings and visits to some more exotic clients at Bristol Zoo so we apologise in the delayed conference round up but better late than never J

The SyncThermology team gathered at Barnsdale Lodge in Rutland on the 15th-16th November for our annual conference.  It’s not often we’re able to gather together our national team, with technicians traveling from as far North as Northumberland and as far South as Cornwall, plus one making the trip across from Ireland prior to the meeting of our Irish team next month.

The weekend included several interesting lectures including two delivered by our own team members, Osteopath Tracy Lomax and Biomechanics specialist Jules La Garde.  A presentation by Kevin Howell on the latest research using thermography to evaluate racehorse performance conducted by Maria Soroko and team was well received and we’re delighted that this has recently been published in the Journal of Equine Science.  Both Maria and Kevin will be working with the team next year on further research projects which we’re very much looking forward to.

The weekend also focused on the team’s plans for 2015, including our “team challenge”!  Next summer will potentially see the team take part in the 3 Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24hrs!  Of course it will all be in aid of a good cause, with a nominated charity to be confirmed.

We’d also like to offer a huge congratulations to our Technicians Holly Brown and Rachel Hartley who are both expecting their first babies.  We were even more surprised to discover that they are both due on the same day!

A really successful weekend which was made more entertaining by the addition of several team dogs; who accompanied their owners for the weekend.  Never a dull moment!

A thank-you must also go out to our other visiting speakers:

Mary Rose, MBST, Moulton College, Ketchup Marketing, Jez Allman & Liz Makin
