Saturday, March 30, 2019  ‹ Back To Latest News List

We are delighted to announce that we have officially expanded our imaging services in Spain. Equine and Canine Imaging is now available via our veterinary partner clinic Caanes, who are based in Alicante. The service brand has been given a Spanish twist and SyncEquino & SyncCanino launch this month.

SyncThermology begun working with Caanes Acupuncture Veterinary Clinic in 2018 when Dr Rodrigo Fagundes joined our interpretation team. His clinic in Alicante has a team trained in traditional oriental veterinary medicine and accepts referrals from veterinary practices. The clinic offers complementary treatments for patients in Oriental Traditional Veterinary Medicine: Acupuncture, Phytotherapy, Tuina, Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy. Thermographic/ physiological imaging is also now available to help assist diagnosis, monitor treatment and rehabilitation. This imaging technique is a unique test of the body’s physiology and has been recognised as a useful tool in the early identification of disease, musculoskeletal and neurological injuries/ conditions. We are delighted to see the technology available for patients at part of integrated approach and we look forward to seeing new data and research studies over the coming years.
Rodrigo and his team at Caanes are all certified veterinary acupuncturists and professors of the world renowned national and international schools (IVAS and Chi Institute). Their work policy seeks to integrate acupuncture and physical rehabilitation into conventional therapies. Although the best-known application of acupuncture is the control of pain in orthopaedic and neurological patients, there is currently a large number of research trials conducted on the use of these therapies in ophthalmology, dermatology, oncology and internal medicine (endocrine, digestive, respiratory, etc.). More and more owners are looking for information about these complementary therapies compared to conventional treatments. Supported by good clinical results, the use of integrative medicine is already a reality in human medicine, and they hope that one day it will also be a standard part of veterinary medicine.

Rodrigo is part of SyncThermology’s interpretation team and provides results for equine, canine and our zoology patients. From 2002 to 2012 Rodrigo was responsible for Veterinary Acupuncture services at Brasilia University (UnB), wild animal acupuncture services at Brazilia Zoo and the wild animal ambulatory service at Brasilia University, with his extensive experience in Zoology we are also very excited to develop our imaging services for international Zoo’s. Results can be provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese. We look forward to working with the team and expanding service throughout Spain. Canine patients can be imaged at the clinic in Alicante and SyncCanino training programmes will also be available in the near future. Please head to their website for more information or contact us to discuss services.
